The Coach.
Hansi Flick rides a Coboc.
Bundesliga champion, DFB Cup winner, Club World Champion and Champions League winner – Hansi Flick’s list of successes is long. Shortly before his next big career step, the start as head coach of FC Barcelona, we met up with the long-time Coboc Friend for a talk at our headquarters in Heidelberg.
What excites you about cycling?
Cycling is a wonderful way for me to recharge my batteries. Especially in stressful phases, I like to get on my bike, get some exercise in the fresh air and switch off. This also works really well when I’m out and about with my grandchildren on the cargo bike, for example. But the bike also makes perfect sense as a means of transportation in cities compared to the car. No traffic jams, no stress – perfect.
Do you ride more for everyday use or for leisure?
When I can spend my free time here in my home region around Heidelberg, the beautiful landscape naturally lends itself to extensive tours. But even at my stations in Salzburg and Munich, I’ve always managed to integrate cycling into my everyday life in some way. But I still have to test the extent to which this will work in Barcelona (laughs).
Més que un bicicleta.

You were born in Heidelberg and are rooted in the region: when did you first hear about Coboc?
That must have been about three years ago. I was looking for a new, lightweight e-bike and came across Coboc. When I saw that the company was even based in Heidelberg, it was clear that I wanted to take a closer look.
Why did you choose a Coboc e-bike?
Especially because the e-bikes are very light and also very stylish. The story behind the innovative approach is also simply impressive. When I rode the first few laps on my Torino, I quickly realized that it was just so much fun.
Can’t you do without an electric drive?
For sure! I was advised to try out the bike without the assistance of the motor and I have to say: it really does ride like a normal bike.
